The word trauma can refer to a variety of life experiences, ranging from ongoing daily stress to severely traumatizing incidents. Trauma releasing yoga is a tool for releasing the effects of deeply held trauma.
This class will combine slow paced yoga asanas with specific movements that help evoke the body’s natural, therapeutic shaking response. This gentle, tremor-like shaking response in humans is the nervous system’s way of unraveling tension, trauma, and habitual holding patterns that can throw the body out of balance. Therapeutic shaking is known to provide relaxation as well as increased energy over time, and can be used to release current stress or longer-term chronic stress. Some people report improved sleep quality.
This class will include mindful breathing, conscious awareness, slow paced asana targeting the core & psoas muscle, 10-15 min of therapeutic shaking, and relaxation. Some yoga experience is helpful.
No matter your life experience or yoga experience, Trauma Release Yoga can benefit you.
