Experience for yourself the happiness and inner peace that comes through the practice of meditation. Our beginning meditation classes will teach you simple, enjoyable, and effective practices of meditation to add to your daily life.

At Lotus Garden, we teach an authentic, time-tested method of meditation called Mantra Meditation. "Man" means mind, "tra" means to lift away or deliver from; the sacred mantras you will learn have the ability to lift the mind away from the stress and troubles of life and bring the Soul to a place of true peace and lasting happiness. 

Introduction to Meditation Classes

Virtual Classes:
Saturdays 11am - 12:15pm
Wednesdays 7pm - 8:15pm

In-Person Class (Starting Nov. 7th):
Sundays 11am - 12:15pm @ Lotus Garden Yoga 9739-B Fair Oaks Blvd.

Why Meditation?

Meditation has been practiced and passed down since ancient times because of it's profound benefits, which remain relevant and valuable to us today.  Initially, meditation improves the health of the physical body as well as the quality of our mental state. It can improve focus, provide relief from stress and anxiety, and help us become more aware and mindful in our daily activities. It develops qualities such as patience, forgiveness, compassion, and selflessness.  Deeper yet, through meditation you can actually become free from anxiety and feelings of inner emptiness. You can achieve self-realization, coming to know who you are, what real peace is, and how to transcend the problems of this world. 


In this class, you will learn 3 techniques of Mantra meditation that are simple to use and easy to incorporate into your daily life right away. 

These classes are designed for beginners, but those with meditation experience will also benefit and learn something new.  

Helpful Info:

 

For Virtual Classes: Pre-registration is required. Online registration closes half an hour before the start of class (if you miss that window, give us a call and we will get your registered). You will receive an email 30min before class begins that will contain the link to join.

 

Before joining the class, find a quiet place where you can sit comfortably and are able to see and hear the Lotus Garden teacher from your computer, tablet or mobile device. Please have your video displayed and your microphone enabled so that we can see you and interact throughout class. The class will be a combination of instruction and practice with the opportunity to ask questions.

 

If you'd like to continue your study and deepen your understanding after your intro class, we offer parts 2-4 as follow up classes.

Special Note:

 

For a portion of the class, you will need Meditation beads (also known as Japa or Mala beads).

Beads will be provided at in-person classes.

For our virtual classes, you have a couple of options:

- Contact us ahead of time to arrange pick up of a set of beads at our yoga studio ($5). 916-944-8505

-Substitute with something you already have (such as a beaded necklace).

- Make your own by using a piece of ribbon, shoelace or cord and tie knots in it to act as beads.

 

If you are not able to get any beads for the class, don’t worry, your instructor will demonstrate an alternative using only your hands :-)
