Meditation Part 1 schedule:

  • Sunday at 11am
  • Wednesday at 7pm 
  • Saturday at 11am
    • Meditation programs are held at our retreat center location: 7225 Lincoln Ave. Carmichael, Ca 95608 unless noted otherwise.
    • Meditation classes are approximately 1 hour long. 
    • You may preregister on our classes page if you wish, but it is not necessary. You are always welcome to drop in.
    • Come as you are, all materials are provided.
    • No experience necessary.
    • Always free of charge.

Bonus! Finding Inner Joy Weekly Meditation Session @ Lotus Garden Yoga Annex (9739-B Fair Oaks Blvd.): Every Monday, 7:45pm - 8:30pm.  Come together each week for meditation at our yoga studio annex location! Practice simple pranayama techniques and mantra meditation with breathing. Learn the ancient practice of Japa meditation using mala beads and enjoy the relaxation of Kirtan. No experience necessary. Beginners, as well as those who practice meditation regularly, are welcome. If you've attended one of our Meditation 1 classes, this is a great opportunity to practice what you've learned with others. 


Kirtan Programs (Group meditation with music and chanting):

The following programs occur weekly and are free of charge. No experience necessary and no pre-registration required.

Friday 6:30-8:30pm: A relaxing evening of candlelight kirtan and refreshments. (Held @ Lotus Garden Meditation Center, 7225 Lincoln Ave):  

Sunday 5:30-8pm**: Sunday Night Kirtan! Includes hearty vegetarian soup meal. Note: **Sunday kirtan is held at San Juan Masonic Lodge: 5944 San Juan Ave, Citrus Heights, CA 95610** Suggested donation $5 to cover hall rental.

What is kirtan? A group meditation unlike any you've experienced before! Expect a variety of musical styles, call-and-response singing of ancient, sacred mantras (easy to follow, even if the mantras are new to you), with everyone present singing, listening, dancing, and swaying to the music. It's uplifting,stress-relieving, laid-back, and fun! 


Why meditation?

The practice of meditation soothes away stress, and allows you to experience a new feeling of health, gradually leaving behind tension headaches, high blood pressure, indigestion, ulcers, and insomnia. However, improving your health, important as it is, is relatively insignificant when compared to the primary benefits of practicing meditation.

Through meditation you can actually become free from anxiety and feelings of inner emptiness. Ultimately, you can achieve self-realization: you can come to know who you are, what real peace is, and how to transcend the problems of this world. Through meditation you can experience your relationship with the Supreme—the Absolute Truth.
